Our Ambassadors
Emily Currie
From the North Cornish coast to the world stage, Emily has built her career on passion, discipline and a deep love for the ocean.
The current English Longboard Champion, former European Champion, and 2024 WSL World Longboard Tour competitor, she holds 24 National Titles and continues to push her performance at the highest level of the sport.
Although competing is a big part of her life, Emily recently finished studying, gaining a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and is a coach for the Team England junior squad. More driven than ever, Emily is deeply passionate about being someone young female athletes look up to, can relate to and feel inspired by.
In a sport where you are mainly within the ocean it goes without saying that sustainability and care for the environment is at the front and centre for Emily. This is why Emily is honoured to be working with Rad Wax, a brand that is making a real change within the surfing industry!
Allannah Brown
If you’ve come here after a session with Allannah at Gather & Glide then welcome! You’ve already met someone really special.
Allannah isn’t just a brilliant surf coach, she’s a force for good in the surf community. We had the chance to join one of her lessons and was genuinely inspired. She brings so much care, encouragement and joy to her sessions, whether you’re catching your first whitewater or carving your first turns. And even when she’s out there absolutely shredding, she never loses sight of what really matters: having fun, building confidence, and protecting the sea we all love.
That’s why we are so proud to have her as a Rad Wax Ambassador. She lives and breathes the same values we do - community, sustainability, and a love for the ocean. Like us, she believes in doing things better. That means wax that works hard without harming the ocean, and a surf culture that lifts people up, not leaves them behind.
If you’ve surfed with Allannah – lucky you. And if you haven’t yet, make sure you do!
Matt Peacey
As someone who lives and breathes the ocean, and understands the science behind climate change, Matt brings a unique depth to our community and values.
Matt is a surfer based in mid-Wales who’s often found exploring the spots around Aberystwyth and further afield. He doesn’t stick to one type of surfing either and regularly switches between shortboards, mid lengths and traditional longboards. He has even been known to SUP surf on occasion!
Alongside his personal surfing, he has been working as a surf coach for Aber Adventures for 8 years. Surf coaching is his passion and he is all about bringing together a surfing community, be it catching your first wave or working on your turns he is always stoked to be a part of it.
Outside of surfing Matt is a full-time researcher at Aberystwyth University, specialising in high-mountain glaciology and how our ice masses will respond to a changing climate. This has taken him to some amazing places including Switzerland, Greenland, Peru, and Nepal, with recent expeditions to the Western Cwm of Mt Everest.
We’re stoked to welcome Matt as a Rad Wax ambassador. His connection to the environment, love of surfing in all its forms, and commitment to building community make him a perfect fit. His work on the front lines of climate research reminds us exactly why sustainable choices matter, both in the mountains and in the ocean.
